The Bridge, The Crane and the Canyon

75CentralPhotography Nevada Hoover Dam The Bridge, The Crane and the Canyon

The almost-completed Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge over the Colorado River along the Nevada-Arizona border. This bridge lies just downstream from Hoover Dam and, since opening in late 2010, acts as a bypass for traffic that was originally directed across the dam. The crane in the foreground is a primitive form of a gantry crane that rides along cables rather than rails and is left over from the construction of the dam in the 1930s.
